The Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine resides in the Tidewater Building located in downtown New Orleans. Rome Office has been asked to envision a penthouse addition above the 25th floor that provides the School with an amenity space to host events and meetings. The intent of the addition is to exploit the unobstructed views provided by the building’s location within the urban context. The brise soleil system of horizontal aluminum fins and vertical fritted glass panels protects the glazed facade from solar radiation throughout the entire year without impeding the 360 degree views of the New Orleans skyline.
