Belladonna Spa House, an award-winning Day Spa in New Orleans, selected Rome Office to re-program its campus and transform its brand into a state of the art spa. A multi-phase renovation process is currently underway that includes a new spa entry and lounge, out-patient clinic, treatment rooms, relaxation rooms, administrative offices, and interior design changes throughout.
The proposal focuses on the role of nature in wellness and aims to connect spa related activities both visually and physically with the outdoors through the revitalization of an existing courtyard and the introduction of a “hydrotherapy garden” – a new concept that was proposed by Rome Office to highlight the therapeutic benefits of water and nature. The campus was re-organized to allow spa program to open directly on to these exterior spaces requiring the clients to pass through the outdoors between treatments. Textures, light, scents and sounds all play a role in the design of each space.
